When filling up that much story real estate, there are bound to be episodes that can't fit the seasonal narrative arcs or just don't have the right tone at the time. After such a long-running show, it's not surprising, however, that there are episode ideas that barely made it past pitching stages, especially considering almost every season was over 20 episodes each.
However, there are a few ideas that were out-of-the-box or very on-brand for the show, yet never got made.ĭean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) Winchester have dealt with magic, cursed items, found footage, hybrid creatures, ghost vehicles, their real-life actors' lives, and so much more. This horror-drama has taken its characters back in time, to alternate universes, into fictional TV shows, into a cartoon, and through hell, heaven, and everywhere in between. After 15 seasons of television, there's almost nothing Supernatural has not explored, but there are a few ideas and scrapped scripts that the show's creator, producers, and stars imagined over the years that fans never got to see.
